Tattoo Aftercare
1. Remove bandage within a couple of hours, and wash tattoo with warm water and soap.
Pat dry with towel, and apply a very thin film of ointment.
Always remove excess ointment with a clean, dry paper towel.
*AquaPhor* or *H2Ocean Tattoo Lotion*(preffered), A&D ointment, Vaseline, cocoa butter, or Tattoo Goo are acceptable.
***DO NOT USE ANTIBIOTIC OINTMENTS (Neosporin or Bacitracin)!!!!***
If you notice red bumps breaking out around tattoo from over use of ointment,
discontinue using ointment, allow to air out a bit after washing and switch to unscented lotion such as: Curel or Lubriderm.
2. Wash tattoo twice daily while healing, and keep a very thin film of ointment to prevent dryness.
It is fine to wash in the shower or tub, but do not allow tattoo to soak for extended time.
Do not wash with abrasive towel or rag.
3. Do not pick or scratch at any scabbing, allow it to come off on its own.
Scabbing will usually flake off in 7 - 10 days.
Continue to wash and use ointment until healed.
4. Do not expose tattoo to sun, swimming, hot tubbing, unclean conditions,
irritating clothing, or anything else that may hinder healing.
5. Once tattoo is healed, always use sunblock with a high SPF factor when in the sun.
